Acknowledgements are due as they are for any project, but the most profound thanks are to Dr. Charles Hiroshi Garrett, whose mind and presence are gone far too soon, and missed profoundly. Dr. Garrett challenged us to become better artists and people through active scholarship, careful listening, and a confident mentality.
